Thanks for the link Mike -- good video! I do a lot of that Google research for my cartoon quilts, but never thought of her idea of layering text into the drawing before starting the drawing.
I asked veteran Golden Age comic book artist Tom Gill how he did his reference work. He sneered and said they had NO TIME FOR REFERENCE! Google images can be a trap, slowing the process to a frustrating crawl.
Here's what I've been working on. In recognition of Decatur County Indiana's bicentennial, here are just a few images from a 42 page historical comic book written by John Pratt, Bicentennial Coordinator, with drawings by me.
